Convergence of 3D MT Seismic Models

We compare here three independent models of the subsurface up to 7000m below sea level:
– a fault model
– an S-wave velocity model
– an electrical resistivity model
The convergence of these models highlights the interest of developing joint inversion methods.
Indeed, for each method, a number of models exist to explain the data recorded on the surface. The one with the smallest deviation from the data is generally retained.
By coupling the methods, the number of possible solutions is reduced and we tend to produce models that are more and more reliable and better resolved!
